Here are a couple of emails from

The Liberty Committee:

July 7, 2004

Early this evening, Congressman Ron Paul will attempt to stop the United States'
funding of the United Nations (UN) and the United Nations Educational Scientific
and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) by offering two amendments to Departments of
Commerce, Justice, and State, the Judiciary, and Related Agencies Appropriations
Act for Fiscal Year 2005 (H.R. 4754).

We have been given very little time to send messages to Congress in support of
these two crucial amendments, so your immediate attention is critical.

"Subsidizing Enemies of Freedom" and "Reagan Was Right On UNESCO" are two
letters Congressman Paul is sending even now to his House colleagues asking for
their support. You can read those letters by going to
http://www.thelibertycommittee.org/ununescoletters.htm

Now, just a few days after Independence Day, is the time for the United States
to declare its independence from the United Nations and UNESCO. Urge your
representative to vote "yes" on the Paul amendments to H.R. 4754 by going to
http://capwiz.com/liberty/issues/alert/?alertid=6094526&type=CO

Do this now, so that your personal message to your elected representative
arrives to double the impact of Congressman Paul's own letters urging his
colleagues to say "no" to the UN and UNESCO.

And:

July 7, 2004

At 7:42 p.m. tonight, the U.S. House approved, by voice vote, Congressman Ron Paul's amendment that will stop the United States’ funding of UNESCO. Your efforts paid off!

Our victory caught the pro-UNESCO forces by surprise and they hurriedly called for a recorded vote for later tonight in order to get more time to twist arms and build opposition. A recorded vote will likely take place around 9:30 p.m. tonight.

We must act fast to keep our victory. Please urge your representative to vote "yes" on the Paul amendment by sending an E-mail message or by calling your representative's office. Many House offices are still open. The main U.S. Capitol switchboard number is 202-224-3121.

Call your representative now or send an E-mail by going to

Well, I didn't get to my computer before 10:30, so I missed all the fun, but it's nice to hear that we won one.
