OK. The twelvth chapter of Romans

has an awful lot to believe in.

OTOH: OMG! Take Deuteronomy 23:1 and apply it to your life:
He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

In case you don't get the euphemisms, the other versions available there will make it clear for you.

I suppose you're wondering what's got me bouncing around the Holy Scriptures this evening. Well, tonight it's this guy.

LOL!

Hm, somehow the link to "this guy" didn't take. Now I've got to remember who he was and track him down.

Except for this.

Mar 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

That also includes if some one else cuts your noughats., or pipe.

Yeah, but I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for those weirdos anyway.

The basest of understanding concerning the Bible is this. The Old Testament is about mans sin and personal and corporate inability to overcome them.

The New Testament is about God's; Ok you can't do it so I just have to up and forgive you, I will do it but you still have to want to and try to be good.

You mean "bassist" don't you?

Seriously, though... Real live human beings lived, had babies, grew old and died under a system that made no damn sense, then.

Starsplash said...

How do you know it made no sense to them?

God does not appear to me to have made much effort to make his word clear to us, so that if we follow his word perfectly we'll live in prosperity, peace and harmony and go to heaven when we die.

Al, that last comment defines religion.

Of course the "ordinary person" does not understand the Bible, or what he/she should believe, or what this world "means".

That is why there is a complete industry, from humble monks and novice nuns through to Popes, Archbishops and the like. "We" need it so that we can go to heaven, whereever that might be, and not go to h3!!, whereever that might be.

You mean he has not made his word clear to you. Us I presume means the whole human race.

I think I have already posted in a previous comment in an earlier article of your concerning the mystery of God.

Jesus is telling the deciples to speak in parables that they might not be saved.

I believe he is taking about non-believers in particular the intelectuals.

It is one of those things, You either believe it, or not. If God doesn't move you, you will not believe.

Because He doesn't care.

Starsplash said...

It is not that he doesn't care.

God has done all these things for his purposes, again I might add not for ours.

Isa 54:16 Behold, have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

What kind of tool are you and if you knew God would you be able to do what ever it is that you are to do. Or are doing. The answer right now is no. If God reveals himself to you before he makes you ready for him then you would surely be destroyed. Mentally if in no other way.

Never the less everyman in their imperfections is doing the perfect will of God.

That is why I don't care about my mispellings. Somehow God is using that to gorify his name, and I gives me much joy to know that.

Now I know the true meaning of "church member" ;)

Inve. you are nothing but a tool for God's wether you want to be or not.
