Had a fantastic autumnal weekend with very good friends at their place in Whangamata. (Find Auckland, head due east to the furthest east coast Coromandel.
Good food, good wine, the wife took a swim, I took a fishing rod... and between the four of us we managed to solve a couple of the pressing problems of the world.
First day of Spring brought a cold front, 25mph winds with gust up to 40mph and temperatures down in the mid 30's. This didn't play well for the two tomato plants which look like they went through a hurricane, leaves all beat to death. Thankfully we have the remainder of the tomato plants still in the kitchen nook waiting for better odds.
Oo-oo-ooh! That place looks mighty pleasant, Probligo. I was just checkin' out their website. We had 20s & sunny here. Fahrenheit. Call it -5° C. Not too windy. I've been running the younger girl over to a park with a big play-thingy everyday. I drove her in the truck Saturday.
Why should we believe that things will be fine only if the government has the discretionary power to transfer resources from those who haven't screwed up to those who have? - Sheldon Richman
